I'm gonna show my age here, which is, well, young. I'm in my mid-20's, and going through what they call a "transitional time." In this case, I'm making a transit from San Francisco to Chicago, and with that, I'm going to be hunting for a new job. Which brings up all the questions I have when I search for work, namely, how can I find something that makes me feel like I'm doing good in the world?

Two weeks ago, my favorite band, Sleater-Kinney broke up. Before finding them, it had been a long time since I had a current musical group to declare "favorites." Most of what I liked was 60's or 70's and finding something new! vibrant! angry! was a joy. It didn't last - they only released one new album after I discovered them, for seven total.

does anyone here have any real experience with that?

I am having a serious case of lust, which will probably be unrequited, for a place on a lake I go to all the time b/c of friends who live there. it's private, no motors allowed, small, has a beautiful "wetlands" at the end with grasses in the water...so alive it's awe-inspiring...I can canoe into the area and imagine seeing the whole of evolutionary history in that one spot.

this sounds like such a little thing, to me. I would simply offer a reward to BOTH girls when they bring home the things they need to do...but not call it a reward.

for instance, Dover has little one dollar books to color, or with washable tattoos, things like that. so, mom can say that she has these and she'll give them to the girls when they bring home items from time to time (not every time, of course.)
